JKA SPRING CAMP WINDSOR – APRIL 2017

 Friday 28th to Sunday 30th April 2017

 Windsor Leisure Centre, Stovell Road, Windsor, SL4 5JB

Friday 28th April – 1pm to 4.00pm – followed by Referees Seminar

Saturday 29th April – 11.00am to 2.00pm – Referees Seminar starts at 9.30am. Dan grading follows training.

Sunday 30th April – 11.00am to 2.00pm – Qualification exam starts at 9.30am – only for people who are  attending 2/3 days of the course

3 Days Training – £99                      2 Days Training – £75                     

The referee’s course is FREE to persons attending 2 & 3 days of the course.

 Payment to be made at the door of the course.  Payment in cash and Great Britain Pounds ONLY for the training and US Dollars Only for the Grading and Qualification exams.

 

Training: To book training please complete the application form overleaf.  For UK applicants post the completed application to the following:  Kenny Taylor, 14 Kings Crescent, Elderslie, PA5 9AA, Scotland, UK.  Please include a stamped addressed envelope so that a receipt can be sent back.  For Overseas/ non UK applicants please either post to the above address or scan and email to: kenneth.taylor6@sky.com where an e-mail confirmation receipt will then be sent.  Ensure that the application form is filled in correctly and all the boxes are ticked for all days attending and Dan Grading or examinations being taken.

 

Training must be pre-booked due to the popularity of this course.

 This course is an open course and all grades are welcome

Dan Grading: Students wishing to Dan Grade must attend a minimum of 2 days training.  All students must complete the official JKA Dan Grading Application form (typed not hand written) (available online at https://kawasoesensei.wordpress.com) and send this form to Martin Cracknell at: e-mail: martin.cracknell@sita.co.uk at least 10 days before the course.  The costings of the Dan Grading will be advised on receipt of the application – ensure a current e-mail address is supplied with the application.  Payment can then be made on the door at the course.  Please come 30minutes before each class if booking in for the Grading. Payments for the Dan Grading Exams are in cash and US Dollars Only.

Qualification Exam:  All people wishing to take the Refereeing and/ or Instructors Qualification Exam must pre-register for the exam. The exam will consist of a practical and a written exam.  Knowledge of the JKA Tournament rules and Instructors Manual are essential for all people wishing to take the exams.  A copy of the manuals can be downloaded from the JKA web site on: http://www.jka.or.jp/english/e_index.html.   Each ‘C’ & ‘D’ level examination cost will be advised shortly and there will be a payment for sitting the exam and a payment for registering the exam.  All examination results are registered at JKA HQ Tokyo.  Payments for the Qualification Exams are in cash and US Dollars Only.

2016 J.K.A. Camp 19th-21st August in Edinburgh Scotland

This being the 34th  year this Camp has been held in Heriot Watt University with Sensei Kawasoe J.K.A. our Chief Instructor in the U.K.

This new £33 million Sport Centre for excellence has been secured for this camp for future years and is hosted by Kenny Taylor J.K.A.
The event is one of the largest J.K.A. Camps in the U.K. and within the fabulous new “Oriam Centre “ is able to hold easily 2-300 students in the one dojo. It is state of the art with so many ultra modern facilities
         
This year we hosted 15 countries and over 250 students with 4 J.K.A.Instructors,- this included J.K.A. Dan Gradings and Refereeing Qualifications
A big thank you to all the instructors and we are hoping to add many more next August 2017 at this event.
A big thank you to all the clubs throughout the world who brought students and a great friendly atmosphere to this camp. We welcome all to this camp and also the J.K.A.Windsor Camp, London( last weekend in April 2017). It is open and friendly, be sure of a great welcome.

Accomodation at Heriot Watt University !

! ACCOMMODATION AT HERIOT WATT UNIVERSITY !
Rooms are available at the moment for £49.50p in limited numbers, once these have gone upgraded rooms at £60 should be available.
All rooms must be booked in groups of 10 persons, those who are travelling in one or two persons can contact the e mail address below and Karolina will try and co ordinate these persons into groups and make the bookings. All rooms must be paid for in advance for these prices, but are limited so book early please

2015 MOST SUCCESSFUL CHAMPIONSHIPS

ON SATURDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 2015 WAS HELD THE GREAT

SCOTTISH 2015 JAPAN KARATE ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS

Attending were over 250 athletes from all over Scotland, with events to suit children and adults alike, also to organise and oversee fair play were 47 Referees and Judges.
           Every person received a commerative medal and some contestants went home with 3 or 4 different trophies, but everyone received recognition of their achievements.
          From Sensei Taylors Club and Perth dojos, came over 15 gold medallists, and 4 double gold medallists, a great achievement from the young talented athletes. The fighting amongst the adult competitors was fantastic, they had obviously put plenty of work in beforehand, giving exciting and enjoyable displays of real Karate technique. The younger athletes put in a very classy display of Kata and pre arranged fighting showing their determination and courage in each round. Spectators were in great abundance and cheered each of their clubs on to victory, a truly great day for all.
          To finish a note front C.E.O. of J.K.A. Afroeuraisa in Scotland Sensei Kenny Taylor 6th Dan J.K.A.
 
” A Championships which was a pleasure to officiate and participate in, the immaculate behaviour and sportsmanship that was shown by all the athletes is a credit to the Club Instructors and students. I hope to hold the sequel this coming February of the Scottish J.K.A.KATA CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
Thank you all once again for participating and officiating at this great event “

Dear Members, Mums and Dads,
We would like to invite you and your children come along to have a great experience at the Annual Scottish Championships. This year we have added more categories to accommodate everyone, beginners included, everyone will receive a memento for taking part.
There are events which encourage children to participate at their own level win fantastic medals and giant cups to win. This kind of event is important to everyone as it helps to build confidence when taking part in Exams and we would ask you to consider letting the children compete, and give them a fun day on 14th. November.

The J.K.A. Scottish Championships for Junior/Cadet/Senior is open to anyone training in J.KA.W.F.S. and Tora Kai. Anyone who are members are asked to participate in these Championships.
Every Chief Instructor has details about this and the Category Forms. These must be completed by the Monday 26th October as the entries have to be in by the 1st November
